Delivery Turn-around Time

Over the counter items:

These orders are processed in 24 – 72 business hours, given stock is available on hand.

Prescription items:

These items require confirmation by your prescribing veterinarian. We generally contact vets within 24 business hours of
the order being placed. We request that vets respond to the request within 24 hours, but sometimes the process can take longer, depending on the veterinarian. Once confirmation is received the order will be processed and shipped within 24 – 72 business hours.

Overnight Deliveries

Overnight shipping starts at $39.99 and must be within the United States. Packages are shipped via FedEx. The fee can increase Depending on final destination. The cut-off time for overnight orders is 1:00pm Pacific Time. Street address must be provided for delivery. There may be additional charges added due to the weight of the package or delivery zone limitations. Overnight orders placed on a Friday will arrive the next business day. If you place an order on a Friday and want it delivered on Saturday, you will have to request a special Saturday delivery which has a different price scale from the standard overnight fee. FedEx does not guarantee overnight deliveries if the package undergoes inclement weather. CPP is not responsible for any packages that undergo inclement weather delays. It is the client’s responsibility to be aware of the weather conditions in their area. Please refer to our Inclement Weather Policy above for more information.

Packages that must go FedEx Ground

We ship the majority of our packages via USPS. However, if the total weight of the package is over 2 pounds, it will ship via FedEx Ground. The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) prevents us from air-shipping items that may cause a hazard.

This includes:

• aerosol-type products
• flammable and certain liquids.

As a result, these items are unable to ship Priority or Overnight and must go FedEx Ground, which may take longer to arrive.

Food Items

We currently cannot ship pet food to Alaska, Hawaii, and U.S. Territories. Food items have their own shipping charges separate from our standard shipping rates. Food does not qualify for free shipping.

Shipping for Vaccines and Products that Require Refrigeration

Orders that contain vaccines and products that require refrigeration are shipped via FedEx Next Day and must be shipped Monday-Thursday. There will be an additional shipping fee. Vaccines and products that require refrigeration are non-returnable, non-refundable, and do not qualify for free shipping. All vaccines and products that require refrigeration will be shipped in insulated containers with ice packs.

Additional Shipping Fees

Free shipping does not qualify for items that require an extra shipping fee. All items that require additional shipping fees are indicated on their product pages. Additional shipping fees will include, but are not limited to the following:

• Orders with bulk items will require a quote for FedEx ground shipping
• Orders being delivered to rural areas
• Orders that include refrigerated and temperature controlled items need to ship in cold packaging with overnight delivery (e.g. vaccines)
• Orders containing food will require a quote for FedEx ground shipping

If your order requires any changes in shipping fees, you will be contacted by one of our customer service representatives
after your order has been placed.

Free Shipping

When your order value is $100 or greater, you are eligible to have standard shipping for no additional cost. Some items cause the shipping cost to rise due to size, weight, or other considerations are not included in this program. These items are indicated on their product pages.

Same Day Shipping

California Pet Pharmacy offers same-day delivery for residents in select areas and ZIP codes located within 20 driving miles from our headquarters at 3157 Corporate Pl Hayward, CA 94545. We will confirm your delivery window after you place your order. Someone must be present at the delivery address to sign for and accept the package.

How much will I pay for Same-Day Delivery?
Same-day delivery starts at $29 for addresses within 20 driving miles from our headquarters. If your delivery address is greater than 20 miles, there will be an dditional fee of $2 per mile added to the $29. You will be notified of the surcharge prior to the order being dispatched. We use Google Maps to determine distance.

Same-Day Delivery Schedule:

Same-day delivery is available Monday through Friday.

• Order Cutoff: 1:00 PM PST

Delivery orders submitted after the cutoff time will automatically be scheduled for the next
delivery day.

• Service Window: 2:00 PM –6:00 PM.

Orders will be delivered between 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM.

At delivery, the following information will be collected:

1. Recipient first and last name
2. Recipient’s relationship to the pet-parent (if pet-parent is not the recipient)
3. An electronic signature

Limitations and Conditions:

Prescription authorization requests may sometimes delay the processing of orders. If your veterinarian has not approved the prescription by the cut-off time, your delivery will be scheduled for the following day.

There is no order minimum, however there is a weight limit of 50 lbs. If an item is not in stock, you will be contacted prior to being charged for same-day delivery.

If we attempt delivery but you are not available, the order will be returned to CPP. Same-day delivery fees are non-refundable. Delivery fees are subject to change without notice. If any delivery is prevented or delayed by any act or condition beyond our reasonable control, we will give prompt notice to you of such condition and shall make all reasonable efforts to ensure delivery is made as soon thereafter as possible. Availability may be limited on certain days, or due to weather, local events, or traffic.

Commercial addresses and P.O. Boxes are not eligible for same-day delivery.

Auto-Ship Program Policy

The Auto-Ship Program is designed for clients who want to have recurring orders shipped out without calling in or placing orders online. To qualify for the prescription Auto-Ship, the current or new prescription must have 3 or more refills included.

Those 3 refills must be used within the year before the expiration. Prescription Auto-Ship orders are given a 5% discount.
If you have a current order and request and qualify for the program, the 5% discount application will start on your next order (the first Auto-Ship order). Over-the-counter Auto-Ship orders are not given a discount. The frequency of the auto-shipments cannot exceed 3 months. Frequencies cannot be drastically adjusted and clients are allowed only one frequency change within the year. We’re able to adjust the frequency up to 15 days. We are able to pause Auto-Ship if needed. You must contact us to pause Auto-Ship and inform us of when you’re ready to reinstate the account. If the Auto-Ship account has been paused for 3 or more months, we will remove your account from Auto-Ship. If you’d like to add multiple pets or medications to your Auto-Ship, you must choose one frequency in which all the medications will ship out. Every client is allowed one frequency for their Auto-Ship account. If you’d like to add a medication for a one-time shipment to your Auto-Ship order, we’d be able to add it, however, that item will not receive a discount. Before all your refills are used or your prescription expires, we will contact your veterinarian to authorize another prescription or inform you to mail in another prescription so we can continue your auto-shipments. The Auto-Ship Program is ongoing unless you inform us to cancel or pause it. Additionally, if the new prescription we receive does not have 3 or more refills included, you will no longer qualify for the Auto-Ship program and your account will be removed. For any requests or inquiries for the Auto-Ship Program, please contact our customer service department at 877.554.4797.

Discrepancy Policy

Clients must contact CPP of any discrepancies or damages within 24 hours of receipt of the medication.

Return Policy

Returns of non-prescription goods may be made within 2 weeks of the acquisition of the shipped goods. Only unopened/unused non-prescription goods will be refunded minus shipping and a 20% restocking fee. In order to return an item, you will need to contact our customer service department at 877.554.4797.

Signature Confirmation

If you are concerned about package theft, signature confirmation is available through most of our shipping partners. Be advised this extra service comes with an added fee. Please contact us if you would like to find out more. High-value orders will be automatically assigned signature confirmation at no additional cost to ensure that the order is received. If the client would like to decline the signature confirmation, they must contact our customer service to do so.

Inclement Weather Policy

If you live in a region that exhibits extreme hot or cold temperatures we recommend you choose the express overnight shipping method. California Pet Pharmacy is not responsible if the content(s) of your package undergo inclement weather as this is out of our control. It is the client’s responsibility to consider current inclement weather conditions when ordering medications. If arrangements need to be made on a particular shipping service or shipping method, it is the client’s responsibility to contact our customer service line at 877.554.4797 to discuss how we can help make arrangements.Additional charges may be applied at that time.

Please Note: Most prescription products require storage at room temperature unless otherwise stated.

Ship to Billing Address Policy

We require all clients to ship to the billing address associated with their credit card due to security reasons. This policy only applies to the first order if it includes over-the-counter items. This does not apply to returning clients or orders with prescription items. If your order is placed with the shipping and billing address mismatched, you will be contacted by one of our customer service representatives for further information.

California Pet Pharmacy (CPP) respects the privacy of others. This Privacy and Cookie Policy (this “Privacy Policy”) is intended to explain CPP’s privacy practices with respect to the website(s) that links to this Privacy Policy (together with its respective pages and features, the “Site”).  This Privacy Policy is also intended to provide you (together with any person helping you visit, access, register with or use any of those online or digital properties, products or services, “you” or “your”) with an overview of the following:

• The type of information about you CPP collects through the Site;
• How CPP collects such information;
• How CPP uses such information;
• Who will have access to such information; and
• CPP’s security measures for protecting such information.

As used herein, the term “personal information” means information that relates to an identified or an identifiable individual (e.g., your name, physical address, telephone number, email address, social security number); and the term “non-personal information” means any information other than personal information that CPP may collect from you, such as anonymized data. 

1. Special Note About Users under the age of 18;

The Site is a general audience website intended for use by adults.  The Site is not designed or intended to attract, and is not directed to, children under eighteen (18) years of age, let alone children under thirteen (13) years of age. CPP does not collect personal information through the Site from any person it actually knows to be under thirteen (13) years of age.  If CPP obtains actual knowledge that it has collected personal information through the Site from a person under thirteen (13) years of age, then it will use reasonable efforts to refrain from further using such personal information or maintaining it in retrievable form. If you are a parent or guardian and discover that your child under 13 years of age has obtained an account on the Website, then you may alert us at 877-554-4797 and request that we delete that child’s personally identifiable information from our systems.

Please note that the aforementioned removal does not ensure complete or comprehensive removal of such content or information posted on the Site.

Also, please note that CPP is not required to erase or otherwise eliminate, or to enable erasure or elimination of, such content or information in certain circumstances, such as, for example, when an international, federal, state, or local law, rule or regulation requires CPP to maintain the content or information; when the content or information is stored on or posted to the Site by a third party other than you (including any content or information posted by you that was stored, republished or reposted by the third party); when CPP anonymizes the content or information, so that you cannot be individually identified; and when you have received compensation or other consideration for providing the content or information.

CPP may collect personal and non-personal information about you through the Site.  Depending upon your use of the Site, the categories of such information might include:

• Information regarding your pet(s);

• Information related to your inquires about possible advertising opportunities with CPP and/or one or more of its parent, subsidiary or affiliated companies (e.g., brands, media, markets);
• Information related to your inquiries about possible employment with CPP and/or one or more of its parent, subsidiary or affiliated companies (e.g., name, mailing address, email address, telephone number, salary requirements, interests, resume);
• Your computer, mobile device, and/or browser information (e.g., IP address, mobile device ID information, operating system, connection speed, bandwidth, browser type, referring/exit web pages, web page requests, cookie information, hardware attributes, software attributes);
• Third-party website, network, platform, server and/or application information (e.g., LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter, etc.);
• Usage activity concerning your interactions with the Site and/or third-party websites, networks, platforms, servers or applications accessed through the Site (e.g., how you accessed the Site, where you go when you leave the Site, number of clicks on a page or feature, amount of time spent on the Site or a page or feature, identity of third-party websites, networks, platforms, servers and applications accessed through the Site);

3. How CPP collects such information;

Finally, CPP might use various tracking, data aggregation and/or data analysis technologies, including, for example, the following:

CPP may use the personal and/or non-personal information it collects from you through the Site in a variety of ways, such as, for example, to:

• Fulfill your requests;
• Process your payments;
• Place, fulfill, process and/or track your orders and purchases;
• Facilitate your movement through the Site;
• Facilitate your use of the Site and/or its respective products and services and/or various events hosted by CPP and/or its representatives;
• Provide customer service;
• Send you communications like, for example, videos welcoming you to our Site and/or membership; our Newsletter, administrative emails, answers to your questions and updates about the Site;
• Allow you to communicate with others through the Site like, for example, through online forums, chat rooms, and bulletin boards;
• Provide you with information about CPP, its parent, subsidiary or affiliated companies and/or their respective businesses, products and services by letter, email, text, telephone or other forms of communication;
• Provide you with customized content and services, including advertising and promotional information (e.g., targeted ads, retargeted ads), recommendations for content you might like, and cross-site functionality across multiple third-party websites;
• Provide you with information about third-party businesses, products and/or services by letter, email, text, telephone or other forms of communication;
• Improve the Site and/or its respective content, features and services;
• Improve the products, services, marketing and/or promotional efforts of CPP and/or its parent, subsidiary or affiliated companies;
• Create new products, services, marketing and/or promotions (e.g., sweepstakes) for CPP and/or its parent, subsidiary or affiliated companies;
• Market the businesses, products and/or services of CPP and/or its parent, subsidiary or affiliated companies;
• Help personalize user experiences with the Site and/or its respective products and services;
• Analyze traffic to and through the Site;
• Analyze user behavior and activity on or through the Site;
• Conduct research and measurement activities for purposes of product and service research and development, advertising claim substantiation, market research, and other activities related to CPP, its parent, subsidiary or affiliated companies, the Site, and/or their respective products and/or services;

CPP reserves the right to use your personal and non-personal information when:

• Required by applicable law, court order or other governmental authority (including, without limitation and by way of example only, in response to a subpoena or other legal process); or
• CPP believes in good faith that such use is otherwise necessary or advisable (including, without limitation and by way of example only, to investigate, prevent, or take legal action against someone who may be causing injury to, interfering with, or threatening the rights, obligations or properties of CPP, a user of the Site which may include you or anyone else who may be harmed by such activities or to further CPP’s legitimate business interests).

5. Who will have access to such information;

CPP may share your personal information with the following:

• CPP’s employees, agents and administrators;
• CPP’s accountants, financial advisors and legal advisors;
• CPP’s parents, subsidiaries and affiliates (including, without limitation, the Practitioners);
• Service providers and other third parties who help CPP provide, manage, administer, maintain, monitor, distribute, operate or facilitate the Site, who help CPP develop, market or provide its products and services, or who help further CPP’s business efforts (e.g., web hosting companies, website administrators, mobile app distribution platforms, support services companies, data analysis companies, credit card or other payment processing companies, online shopping cart providers, advertising partners), as needed in order for them to perform such services;
• Law enforcement or other governmental entities in response to what CPP believes to be an allegation or suspicion of illegal activity, a request relating to a civil or criminal investigation, an allegation or suspicion of illegal activity, a subpoena, a court order, or any other activity that may expose CPP to liability if it does not act or comply; 
• Any third parties who CPP believes are necessary to help or allow CPP to protect and enforce its rights and properties, including, without limitation, to enforce its rights under CPP’s Terms and Conditions or any other agreements CPP has with you, and to protect and enforce its intellectual property rights; and/or
• Any third parties who CPP believes are necessary to help or allow CPP to protect the rights and properties of others (which may include you), assuming that CPP believes it has an obligation to do so.

In certain cases, CPP (or partners) may be required to disclose personal information to investigate, prevent, or take action concerning: (1) legal requests; (2) the enforcement of CPP’s Terms and Conditions; (3) the protection of CPP’s (or partners) rights, property, or personal safety or the rights, property, or personal safety of CPP’s users and the public; (4) the exercise of the legal rights of CPP (and/or the Practitioners); and (5) any other disclosure required by law.

CPP also reserves the right to share your personal information with third parties in connection with or as a result of any potential or actual merger, acquisition or other event involving a change in ownership or control of CPP or CPP’s business (whether by sale of assets, merger, stock purchase or otherwise).

CPP does not limit the ways in which it might use or share non-personal information – and CPP reserves the unencumbered right, but not the obligation, to use or share non-personal information – because non-personal information does not identify you.  For example, CPP may freely share non-personal information with its parent, subsidiary and affiliated companies, its vendors, its suppliers, its representatives and other individuals, businesses and government entities.

You may choose to share certain information and/or follow other users on the Site.  You may choose to share your contact information with other users or provide it publicly.

6. Data Retention;

CPP may retain your personal information and non-personal information for as long as it is reasonably necessary for a legitimate business purpose.  CPP may dispose of or delete any such personal information or non-personal information at any time, except as set forth in any other agreement or document executed by both you and CPP concerning the same or as required by law.

7. Transactions;

In connection with any transaction that you conduct on, through or in relation to the Site, you may be asked to supply certain information relevant to the transaction, including, without limitation, your credit card number and expiration date, your billing address, your shipping address, your phone number and/or your email address.  By submitting such information, you consent to providing such information to third parties (e.g., payment processing companies, online shopping cart providers) for the purpose of facilitating the transaction.

All credit card, debit card and other monetary transactions on or through the Site occur through an online payment processing application.  This online payment processing application is provided by a third-party online payment processing vendor.  

Your purchase transaction data is stored only as long as is necessary to complete your purchase transaction. It is encrypted through the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS).

All direct payment gateways adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover.

PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit card information by our store and its service providers.

8. Location-Based Services Consent;

You hereby expressly consent to our use of location-based services and expressly waive and release CPP from any and all liability, claims, causes of action or damages arising from your use of CPP’s services, including but not limited to use of the Website, or in any way relating to the use of the precise location and other location-based service.

9. Third Parties and Their Applications and Networks;

The Site and/or any communications sent through or as a function of the Site might contain links to third-party websites, networks, platforms, servers and/or applications. Third-party websites, networks, platforms, servers and/or applications might also contain links to the Site.

In addition, you might have the opportunity to access the Site using your online user accounts with certain third-party websites, networks, platforms, servers or applications, which might be subject to separate privacy policies pertaining to those third-party websites, networks, platforms, servers or applications. CPP might also collect information from those third-party websites, networks, platforms, servers or applications (such as, for example, your name, gender, date of birth and personal interests, when you “like” or click links provided by or through those third-party websites, networks, platforms, servers, or applications and other information available through your online account or page with those third-party websites, networks, platforms, servers or applications).

Moreover, CPP might permit third parties to use their own tracking, data aggregation and/or data analysis technologies like the ones described above (e.g., third-party cookies).
