Product Info:

Apoquel Chewable are an oral chewable that works differently than other allergy medications. It goes straight to the source to help relieve itch and inflammation at its core—addressing the underlying cause of irritation and soothing allergic reactions. It starts to relieve those unpleasant symptoms within 4 hours, and effectively controls itching within 24. Apoquel is ideal for both short or long-term treatment and can help to offer relief without many of the side effects associated with steroids.

For:

Dogs

Benefits:

•#1 Prescribed Oral Medicine for Allergic Itch¹: Apoquel Chewable (oclacitinib chewable tablet) is a revolutionary oral medicine for dogs with allergic itch. Apoquel can be used short-term or for long-term maintenance therapy²𝄒³ in dogs 12 months of age and older. Apoquel Chewable is expected to provide comparable efficacy to Apoquel Tablet after the first dose, and comparable safety to Apoquel Tablet.
•Stops Allergic Itch at the Source⁶: Apoquel is not a steroid, antihistamine, or cyclosporine (a type of drug that reduces immune system activity). Apoquel is in a different category of medications. Unlike other medicines, Apoquel blocks allergic itch at the source. So, it works at the underlying cause of itch to provide relief fast.
•Fast-Acting Allergy Itch Relief: If your dog is scratching, licking, or chewing like crazy, you want to provide fast, effective relief. Apoquel Chewable controls it within 24 hours.
•Can be used with many other medications² including: nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), vaccines (such as rabies), and allergen-specific immunotherapy (allergy shots or drops). The use of Apoquel has not been evaluated in combination with other systemic immunosuppressants, such as corticosteroids and cyclosporine.
•Available in Three Strengths: Apoquel Chewable comes in 3.6 mg, 5.4 mg, and 16 mg based on your dog’s body weight. Follow your veterinarian’s instructions for dosing as prescribed. You can administer to your dog orally once a day. Apoquel Chewable is a tasty pork-liver flavor. Apoquel is also available in a tablet formulation.

Cautions:

Do not use Apoquel Chewable in dogs less than 12 months of age or those with serious infections. Apoquel Chewable may increase the chances of developing serious infections, and may cause existing parasitic skin infestations or pre-existing cancers to get worse. Consider the risks and benefits of treatment in dogs with a history of recurrence of these conditions. New neoplastic conditions (benign and malignant) were observed in clinical studies and post-approval. Apoquel Chewable has not been tested in dogs receiving some medications including some commonly used to treat skin conditions such as corticosteroids and cyclosporines. Do not use in breeding, pregnant, or lactating dogs. Most common side effects are vomiting and diarrhea. Apoquel Chewable has been used safely with many common medications including parasiticides, antibiotics and vaccines.

Side Effects:

In most cases, diarrhea, vomiting, anorexia, and lethargy spontaneously resolved with continued dosing.
