Heartgard for Cats prevents feline heartworm disease in cats and kittens. The active ingredient in this product is ivermectin. Ivermectin kills heartworms in the larval stage. It also helps to eliminate intestinal parasites, such as hookworms. Ivermectin works by interfering with the nerve transmission of the immature heartworms and hookworms.

For:

Cats (6+ weeks of age, no weight requirement)

Benefits:

  • Highly effective in preventing heartworms
  • Removes and controls adult and immature hookworms
  • A convenient and tasty chewable for easy administration
  • Delicious beef flavor that most cats will eat

How it works

Heartgard Chewables for Cats prevent heartworm disease by eliminating the tissue stage of heartworm larvae for a month after infection.

Storage:

Store at controlled room temperature 68-77°F (20-25°C).

Do not remove the chew from its wrapper until ready to give. Heartgard Chewables for Cats must be chewed. They should not be swallowed whole. For cats, the chew can be crumbled onto food or fed directly to the cat. Do not give a double dose of the medication.
