Alprazolam is used to treat anxiety in dogs and cats.

Alprazolam for dogs is often used to treat anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder or the symptoms of extreme grief and as a muscle relaxant. It is commonly used in dogs for storm phobias.

Alprazolam is a mild tranquilizer used to reduce anxiety in dogs and cats. It is classified chemically as a benzodiazepine tranquilizer. Because it is a benzodiazepines, it may be used as a muscle relaxant, anticonvulsant or appetite stimulant. It might also be useful for treatment of irritable bowel syndrome.
