Product Info:

Lactated Ringers Solution is used for electrolyte and fluid replenishment or as an alkalizing agent. Lactated Ringers Solution can help rehydrate animals and restore electrolyte balance.

For:

Horses, Dogs, Cats, Cattle, Sheep and Swine

How it Works:

It works to restore electrolytes (sodium, chloride, potassium, etc.) in situations where there is a loss of fluid. Lactated Ringers rehydrates the body and helps to maintain proper hydration. Hydration is necessary for normal body function. Electrolyte balance is important for certain actions including muscle contraction and nerve activity.

Storage:

Should be stored at room temperature (59-86°F), away from moisture and heat.

How to Use:

May be injected intravenously, subcutaneously or intraperitoneally (except in horses) using strict aseptic technique.

Cattle and Horses: 2 to 5 mL per pound of body weight depending on size and condition of animal, repeated 1 to 3 times daily or as needed.

Swine and Sheep: 2 to 5 mL per pound of body weight depending on size and condition of animal, repeated 1 to 3 times daily or as needed.

Cautions:

Keep out of your children and pets.

Side Effects:

Side effects are unlikely if the proper dose is given. Abscesses or infection may occur at the injection site if a sterile needle and proper technique were not used during administration. If your pet experiences an allergic reaction to the medication, signs may include facial swelling, hives, scratching, sudden onset of diarrhea, vomiting, shock, seizures, pale gums, cold limbs, or coma. If you observe any of these signs, contact your veterinarian immediately.
